To keep you well informed on the best way to wash your Kanuk, we continually test our processes, our new fabrics and the latest garment care and protection products offered on the market. The version you are reading was updated on January 4, 2010.

STAIN REMOVER
For stubborn stains, we recommend you use Shout stain remover (available in all supermarkets). Spray stains generously, and leave the product on the garment for 1 hour (not 2 to 3 minutes as recommended by the manufacturer). Then, wash your coat quickly, without allowing the Shout to dry.
RECOMMENDED DETERGENTS
According to our most recent tests, Tide HE Liquid detergent produces the best results. It has been designed for use in front-loading washing machines and rinses out of clothing well. As indicated in our care and maintenance instructions (which can be found in the inside pocket of your new Kanuk coat), powder detergents for cold-water washing also produce good results, providing you use only half of the suggested quantity.
APPAREL PROTECTOR
We recommend Tana Style 16 fabric and leather protector. For best results, follow the instructions on the product container. Before using the product, ensure the coat is completely clean and dry. Lightly spray the protector over the entire surface of the coat. Two light applications are better than one heavy coating. The fabric of your coat will be more resistant to dirt and stains, and water and rain will bead on its surface. The fabric of new coats is treated in our factory. There is no need to apply protector until the coat has been washed for the first time.
Caution: Certain protectors can stain your coat (particularly water-based products). Before using the product, test it on a concealed area of your coat. We sell Tana Style 16 fabric and leather protector. Tana products are also available at shoe and leather stores.
